How to Shade VDB Volumes in Redshift Quick Tip

How to Shade VDB Volumes in Redshift Quick Tip

➡️ Check out Motion Lab Here: www.motionlab.net

In this tutorial I’ll show you a quick tip for making VDB Volumes more transparent and wispy vs thick and dense. It’s an advanced tab section of the material that most people aren’t aware of, yet is extremely useful for making drastic changes to the look of your VDB. Hope it helps!

Notes: Go to Volume Material in RS and click on the Advanced Tab. Change the density remap range of the volume to: Old Min 0, Old max 1, New Min 0 and New Max 1. From here you can change the New Max slider. If you make the number less it will crush down the VDB and clip it so it becomes less dense and has a more wispy vibe. If you crank that slider up it will introduce more and more data and density to the VDB volume.
